This distiller was made in Italy by hand. It is sold
as a decorative piece, as its small size makes it impractical for
distilling drinking water in sufficient supply for consumption.
Not legal, nor safe, for use with alcoholic beverages.
Instructions:
♦ Fill the larger container with water and the smaller (coiled
container) with small ice cubes. Attach tubing as shown in top photos,
and turn on the alcohol burner under the water.
♦ As water boils, the steam goes through the coiled tube, is cooled by
the ice, and comes out as distilled water.
♦ The small tube at the top of the coiled container directs overflow of
melted ice when adding more ice. |

Brass & Glass 8-Pc Distiller

Includes burner (for denatured alcohol), boiling flask, cooler/condenser, thermometer,
funnel, stand, and two 2 oz glasses. |
Instructions:
♦ Pour rubbing alcohol (70% or better) into the burner with wick. Add 7
oz of ordinary wine into the round-bottom boiling flask by using the
funnel provided, then carefully replace the funnel with the thermometer
in the opening at the top of the boiling flask. Add ice cold water to
the cooler/condenser.
♦ Light the wick on the burner. As the wine starts to turn into steam
(about 20 min.), keep the temperature constant at about 80-90°C. If the
temperature rises, swing the burner partially away from the center of
the flask to lower the temperature. Move it back if the temperature goes
lower.
♦ In about 2 hours it will produce about 2 oz of delicious brandy, with
about 3 oz of grape juice left over. Allow all parts to cool to room
temperature before touching or removing. |
