For storage of food, we recommend bowls made of non-metallic materials, preferably glazed ceramics, enameled metals, or glass. Why not regular metal or plastic bowls for storage? Over time, foods and liquids can react with metals and plastics, causing leaching, pitting, off tastes, damage to bowls, and more. The nature of glazed ceramics and glass makes them much more resistant to reactions with foods and liquids.
