I researched so many options before deciding on this iron. Specifically reading reviews of the quality and longevity of different brands. The consensus of my research was that C Palmer makes the highest quality products, and the closest to vintage electric irons. Largely due to the fact that it seems like they’ve been making essentially the same product since what we call vintage was new. I opted for the 7500 instead of the 1000 just for the thinner pizelle it makes. I also debated non stick but read that it deteriorates over time as all nonstick does and also some reported it doesn’t crisp as well as old fashioned aluminum. In the end I settled on this model. Made in my home state of Pennsylvania and purchased from a shop in my home city. I would have gone in person but carrying the box back home on the subway didn’t feel like it would be fun. Product was shipped the morning after I placed my order and was received the next day since I live in the same city. This machine is overbuilt and I have no doubt it will last many years. From the long handles, to the strain relief on the wiring to the solid almost entirely metal construction, you can really tell this thing was designed with care by folks who know exactly what they are doing. Heats evenly and makes lovely thin and crispy pizelle.
Very pleased with how quickly I received my order.
